Why Cameron?

In Belgium, sports such as football, cycling, and cyclocross immediately come to mind. These are the sports that are frequently televised and become a part of life as you grow up in Belgium. The enduring images of determined cyclocross riders battling through the mud are iconic. Indeed, our country boasts numerous prominent figures in the history of cyclocross.

 

Ultimately, it won't be long before you find yourself attending a cyclocross event to experience the spectacle and atmosphere firsthand. Before you know it, you'll develop a preference for a particular rider who, in one way or another, captures your interest.

For instance, Niels Albert had an advantage over Sven Nys... Wout van Aert (beloved by all in Belgium) and Laurens Sweeck, known for his hard work and humble nature!

 

It was only about a year and a half ago that I first came across Cameron Mason's name, much to my embarrassment for not knowing him sooner. My discovery likely happened while watching cyclocross videos on YouTube, where I stumbled upon his channel.

 

I believe I've watched nearly all the videos he uploaded in a single day! His narrative about a young boy from a Scottish town who developed a passion for cyclocross and pursued his dream with his parents' support was incredibly moving. I highly recommend checking out his videography on YouTube.

 

His perseverance, talent, and beautiful personality drew me back to the cyclocross circuit to witness his performance live. Ever since, I make every effort to attend as often as possible, offering him that extra bit of support!

 

That's why this website, perhaps more of a personal vlog, is one of the small ways to offer him support.

 

The wonderful aspect is that, despite being a non-Belgian, he is cherished by the Belgian people—a sentiment I've personally felt through interactions during events.
